Star Treatment celebrates 'everyday' workers

No doubt you'll probably be at work while it's transmitted, but available to watch any time via ITV Player or recorded via Sky Plus, is a new series on ITV called 'Star Treatment'.

Hosted by Jane McDonald, the programmes aim to celebrate the everyday workers, who are not normally focussed upon. For example, episodes this week (w/c 27/08/13) highlight 6 workers at a farm shop in Wales, a dog care centre and grooming parlour in Hoylake on the Wirral, a bingo hall in Manchester, workers at an aquarium in Ellesmere Port and employees at the Yorkshire theme Park, Diggerland.

Not only do the workers get a makeover, they are also cooked a meal by a gourmet chef, with, ITV promises, help from their boss. The end of each episode shows the newly glammed-up workers showing off their new look to their family and friends.

Any programme that focuses on people who have to get up to do an honest days work instead of Z-list celebrities gets the thumbs up from us!
